How we make money

We earn a commission when you start a consultation with some of the providers we list. That's it. Here's the part that matters: the commission is attached after we've ranked the providers. It never decides the order you see them in.

The sequence, in the order it happens.

Ranking comes first. Money joins the process last, and by then the order is already set.

1 We set the order first. Providers are sorted by price, lowest first, with the basis stated on screen — never by what we're paid.
2 Then commission is attached. Only after the order is set do we add referral links to the providers that have one.
3 Providers we earn nothing from stay listed, on identical cards, ranked the same way as everyone else.
4 Where it's practical, we point you to a route that earns us nothing, so you can always choose it.

What moves a provider up the list, and what can't

Two things affect the order, and money is not one of them. Registration checks decide whether a provider is listed at all and what its card shows — never its position.

Affects the order
  • Price — the default sort, lowest first, stated on screen.
  • Verified customer rating — what customers say, attributed to the source, used only when you choose to re-sort by rating. Providers without a verified rating go to the end of that sort.
Never affects the order
  • Whether a provider pays us a commission.
  • How much any commission is worth.
  • Any payment, gift or sponsorship from a provider.
  • A provider asking to move up. The answer is no, and there is no price at which it becomes yes.

The rule is enforced by machine, not by promise: an automated check re-sorts our data with every referral link switched on and off, and fails the build if the order ever changes.

When something is paid-for

There are no paid placements on this site today. If we ever run one, it will sit in its own box, clearly labelled “Ad”, outside the ranked list — never mixed into the results. You'll always be able to tell what's ranked and what's paid, at a glance.

Commission doesn't change what you pay, either. The provider's price is the same whether you arrive through us or go to them directly.

Why we do it like this

We're a comparison site, not a pharmacy. Our only product is a clear, honest comparison — the moment we let money move the order, that product is worthless. Independence isn't a nice-to-have for us; it's the whole business.

The same model funds most UK comparison sites. What varies is whether the sequence is disclosed. Ours is, on this page, and the two people responsible for keeping it that way are named on our About page.
